Pupil Premium
Pupil Premium was introduced in April 2011. The funding is provided to help disadvantaged pupils to ‘close the gap’ and to raise attainment and improve progress.
Children who are eligible include:
- Pupils who have been registered for Free School Meals (FSM) at any point in the last six years
- Children who have been looked after continuously for more than six months
- Children of armed services personnel
At The Bridge Centre, we use pupil premium funding to support students in their academic progress and also in their social, emotional and personal development. Pupil Premium funding supports The Bridge Centre’s vision to ensure our young people have the nurture, opportunity and knowledge they need to be successful learners and positive participants in our community. It enables us to create opportunities to model compassion and provide students the opportunity to be compassionate towards others; creates opportunities which empower our young people and also enables students to achieve personal bests and recognise the progress they have made.
The funding is used in numerous ways including, but not limited to:
- Enrichment activities both on & off site
- 1:1 personal training and coaching
- 1:1 learning support
- Mental health support
- Educational Psychology Intervention
- Home School Liaison
- Therapeutic support

- Additional and differentiated resources within the centre such as Lego therapy, Art therapy and individual music activities.
